Bob sells corals as well. It’s part of the MORE in Reef Stew & More. He started with corals from his own tank and has sense purchased some specifically to grow and frag. To frag is short for fragment and the process is known in the hobby as “fragging”. It’s pretty simple, you cut off a fragment of a coral, glue it to something, and it grows. For some corals the process is simple and others require great care in just how they are cut. They also require water that is perfect because you are giving them a wound and causing stress. But when done right it can be rewarding. Even if you don’t want to sell them (most people don’t) you can trade them or just use them to start a second tank or have more of the same coral in a different location of your own tank. I took home two frags from Bob because the colors were outstandingly vibrant.
